SPAN Medicare Celebrates Its Heroes at Forest Park, Buloba
On 5th May 2025, International Midwives Day, SPAN Medicare Kisaasi decided it was time the heroes got celebrated; loudly, joyfully, and with a little adrenaline thrown in.
“A team that plays together, heals together.”
Dressed in smart casual and buzzing with energy, our midwives and Hospital Administrator traded stethoscopes for ziplines as they headed out to the lush green escape of Forest Park Resort, Buloba. Nestled along Mityana Road, the resort is a paradise of nature, adventure, and good food, and it turned out to be the perfect backdrop for a day full of laughter, bonding, and well-deserved rest.

The man-made lake offered peaceful 20-minute pedal boat rides filled with fresh breezes and even fresher conversations. Horse riding brought out competitive spirits, and target shooting revealed some surprisingly sharp-eyed midwives!
What made the day truly special, though, was not just the activities; it was the presence of management. When leadership shows up, not to supervise, but to genuinely participate, it sends a powerful message:
“we see you, we value you, and we are in this together.”
This outing was not a break from SPAN’s mission; to provide accessible, compassionate, and high-quality healthcare, it was a direct investment in it. Because compassionate care begins with a team that feels seen, appreciated, and united. As we work toward our vision of being Uganda’s leading holistic healthcare provider, we know that our greatest asset walks through our doors in scrubs every morning.
