SPAN Medicare’s Dental Outreach in Partnership with Forgotten Children Worldwide

Dental Outreach in Partnership with Forgotten Children Worldwide

On 15 September 2026, SPAN Medicare partnered with Forgotten Children Worldwide (FCW) to conduct a dental and general health outreach benefiting 21 children. The outreach was aimed at improving access to essential healthcare services while promoting early intervention, preventive care, and healthier habits among children.

BRINGING QUALITY HEALTHCARE CLOSER TO CHILDREN

The outreach focused on assessing the children’s oral health, identifying conditions requiring treatment and providing appropriate medical interventions.                                                                                                       Our dedicated dental and medical teams worked together to ensure that the children received the necessary care while equipping them and their caregivers with knowledge to maintain good oral health.

Key achievements of the outreach included:

  • 21 children received dental consultations and screening, allowing early identification of dental conditions requiring treatment or further management.
  • 13 restorative procedures were performed to address dental conditions and support improved oral health.
  • Three dental extractions were carried out for children requiring these procedures.
  • Children and caregivers received education on proper oral hygiene and preventive dental practices.
  • Three children presenting with other medical concerns received general medical consultations and appropriate treatment.
  • Children requiring additional dental investigations or procedures were identified and provided with recommendations for continued care.

OUR COMMITTMENT TO COMMUNITY HEALTH AND WELLNESS

At SPAN Medicare, community health initiatives are an important part of our commitment to improving health outcomes.

Through our dental and general medical services, we aim to support individuals and families with healthcare that addresses immediate medical needs while encouraging preventive practices.

The FCW dental outreach demonstrated the value of integrating different healthcare services to address the wider health needs of children.

Beyond providing treatment, the initiative created an opportunity to educate children and caregivers on the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene, recognising dental problems early and seeking appropriate medical attention.

We believe that empowering communities with health knowledge is an essential step towards promoting long-term health and wellness.

THE WAY FORWARD:                                        Building Healthier Communities Together

Following the successful outreach, SPAN Medicare remains committed to strengthening its partnership with FCW and supporting the continued health and well-being of the children under its care.

Our focus moving forward includes:

  • Continued dental care: Supporting appropriate follow-up for children identified as requiring further dental investigations, procedures or treatment.
  • Preventive health education: Reinforcing proper oral hygiene practices and encouraging children and caregivers to prioritise preventive healthcare.
  • Comprehensive healthcare: Promoting an integrated approach that considers both dental and general medical needs.
  • Strengthening partnerships: Building on our collaboration with FCW to support the health, welfare and future of children under its care.
  • Community health and wellness: Continuing our commitment to health awareness, preventive care and initiatives that promote healthier communities.

TOGETHER FOR A HEALTHIER FUTURE.

SPAN Medicare extends its sincere appreciation to Forgotten Children Worldwide for its continued partnership and to the caregivers for their participation in this initiative.

We also recognise the dedication of our dental, medical, nursing and support teams whose commitment contributed to the successful implementation of the outreach.

Together, we remain committed to promoting healthier children, strengthening community partnerships and supporting a future where quality healthcare and preventive health education contribute to lasting community well-being.
